TESTIMONIALS

The Academy has been a fabulous experience. My son receives very individualized coaching - we get several emails a week with feedback about his performance. The coaches send video clips and articles that address his specific needs. All of this attention has really helped him focus and improve his tennis game.- Academy Parent

It seems like each coach knows his strengths and areas where he needs more work. The Academy has provided very personalized attention and a lot of specific feedback. They send coaching tips and updates, via email, to my son and to us (his parents), so we can get an idea of what he is working on too! Since he started the Academy I have noticed a dramatic increase in his interest, dedication and motivation - and big improvements in his play. - Academy Parent

The coaches in the Academy really encourage the players to excel and reach their full potential. They emphasize teamwork and respect among all of the Academy players. I am impressed with each of the coaches and thrilled that my son can benefit from their expertise - each one seems to know him and is eager to help him grow and succeed on the court. I couldn’t ask for more positive role models for my young teenager! - Academy Parent

My child has gained a tremendous amount of self-confidence, self-discipline and a true love for the game of tennis since he has joined the Westwood Tennis Academy. I attribute all of this to David Minihan and the rest of the Academy coaching staff. The Academy has a wonderful individualistic positive teaching style where by they are very connected to each student. The staffs past and present knowledge of tennis is incredible and they continue to teach new skills and techniques each week. I highly recommend Westwood Tennis Academy for those looking to enhance their child's opportunities in tennis. - Academy Parent

The Academy is a comprehensive mind, body, spirit program that will serve participants throughout their lives. It offers the obvious benefits of exercise and a healthy entertainment option for growing teens in our community. Westwood Tennis Center, a city organization, is the only outlet in Norman for young secondary students to participate in an organized team tennis program. Tennis is a wonderful individual sport for life, but team tennis provides that extra opportunity to be part of a group with a shared mission. The Academy experience provides multi-faceted skills including body training, coordination, concentration, strategy, discipline, a strong work ethic, and problem-solving. The program also guides students on how to be a good team member, effective partner, skilled communicator, and encouraging leader. The power and cohesiveness of the group offers a strong “identity” for our young people. The manners and civility inherent in the game reinforce a code of conduct we can all be proud of and grateful for. A unique aspect of the program is the ability to tailor specific classes and playing opportunities to each player’s individual needs. The coaches provide comprehensive evaluation feedback about each player on a weekly basis and this is used by the director to determine how to continue to create a program designed specifically for the player. This is an exemplary tennis program in an award-winning facility. Best of all, players have access to David Minihan, Marc Claude’ and their remarkable staff who are building a strong legacy of tennis in Norman. Bravo!
